Kinsale RFC are interested in playing Crosshaven in a veterans match in 2 or 3 weeks time. You have to be over 35 years of age to be eligible. If you think you would be fit or able to play (and even if you're not!!!!) please contact Dave Kingston to find out more info. There might be 1 or 2 training sessions required to fine tune selection, tactics and other details. However the emphasis here is on having a good time, a bit of crack on the pitch and more socialising off it!!!! More details to follow.

Our U-19 ladies took on Bandon at home last weekend to establish 2nd and 3rd place in the Munster Development league. The Crosshaven girls got points on the board in the first 30 seconds following Bandons kick off. For most of the first half the game was very one sided with the Crosshaven girls running in five trys and 3 conversions to Bandons one try. For the second half Crosshaven used the game to try out players in different positions but it did allow Bandon the chance of a few more scores. Our girls were still on the offensive though and were still able to put over the line to pull further away from Bandon.
Final score was 55 - 21 giving the girls 2nd place in the league, winners were a team made up of Fermoy / Mallow players.

The girls next match is against a Canadian touring side on March 16th under lights in Bandon.

The J1s enjoyed a rare weekend off last weekend with no scheduled matches. The next fixture is the last league match away against St. Senans. There is a big relegation battle ongoing with Crosshaven, Thurles, Kilfeacle and Clonmel all involved in a battle to stay up. Unfortunately Crosshaven are in the danger zone but with a match against the already relegated St. Senans to come. One of the four sides will be relegated and next weekend may decide this outcome with Kilfeacle playing Clonmel and Waterpark playing Thurles. Crosshaven can only concentrate on the job in hand and try to beat St. Senans. We will then be hoping for the other results to go our way. The team has enjoyed some great form of late with wins over St. Senans (In the cup), Cashel and Waterpark (In the league), a draw against Thurles and a narrow loss to table toppers Tralee. While this is not the higher profile top of the table clash we have been used to the lads need as much support as we can manage so I urge all supporters to travel and give support. Kick off in Senans is 2.30pm.

The J2s followed up a great win against Killarney with another victory at home against Sunday's Well on Sunday February 28th 2010. The lads pulled off one of their better performances of the year with a great first half display. A try from George Jagoe and penalties and conversions from Ken O'Halloran put Crosshaven into a 13 - 3 lead at half time. The Well piled on the pressure after half time but some determined defence kept them out. A further O'Halloran penalty put Crosshaven out of reach. The team is really performing well now and congrats to the lads and coaches Dave Kingston and Peter O'Donovan.

Its away to Kinsale in the last George O'Connell Cup match for the J2s. The match kicks off at 12 midday in Kinsale next Sunday March 7th 2010.

The J2s had a long awaited victory away over Killarney in the George O'Connell Cup on Saturday February 20th 2010. On the back of some good performances (but ultimately no wins!!) Crosshaven managed to register a win with tries coming from Kyran O'Boyle, Chris Kearney and Gareth Allen. The lads are fully deserving of this after enduring a difficult season so far. Hopefully we can carry some form into the end of season cups. The lads play Sundays Well at home this Sunday February 28th 2010 at midday. Please come up and support.
