Ticket News Due to some interest and enquiries already received about the Heineken Cup quarter finals, the following are some basic guidelines for Crosshaven RFC ticket applications: 1: Season ticket holders DO NOT automatically get tickets for the Quarter Final. They must apply. Our allocation does not include a one for one on the season tickets. 2: As it is likely that we shall have an oversubscription for tickets applications will probably have to be for single tickets per member initially. If people want more than one, apply as normal but be aware that the allocation process will initially be on a single basis. 3: Even on a single ticket basis we may not be in a position to fill all applications. |

Colaiste Muire played bandon Grammar last Tuesday and were narrowly beaten by 2 points. Crosshaven were unlucky to have a try disallowed when Luke O'Donnell was adjudged to have crossed the dead ball line before touching down. Anthony St. Leger was taken to CUH with a neck injury sustained 10 minutes into the first half, but fortunately no serious damage done. Hope he gets well soon. A great performance from the lads in only their second match. Congrats to all involved. |

Six Nations Draw The draw for the above took place on Sunday January 11th 2009 after the Munster Junior Cup game. The winners/prizes were as follows: 1st: Dan Cronin (C/o Donal McClement) 2nd: Steve Jones (C/o John O'Brien) 3rd: Mick Good (Admiral Drake) Congratulations to all the winners. The draw was a huge success with all but a handful of the limited 250 tickets sold. The main reason for the success of the draw is the great organisation, efficiency and commitment of Donal McClement, without whom we would not be able to run the draw successfully. The draw raised over Eur 8,500. Thanks also to all members who sold tickets or bought the tickets themselves - hopefully you will be luckier next time!! |

The St. Stephens Day match was a great success with the "Presidents 15" prevailing in certainly very cold conditions. Firstly thanks to all players who turned up. There were over 35 people who arrived up gear in hand which was great. It was beyond what we expected. The "Invitational 15" started well and went into a 5 - 0 lead in the first half. The Presidents team consisting of mostly J2s and Under 20s came back strongly and scored twice in the second half to win 14 - 5. There was much craic, pints and ceoil afterwards in the bar. Secondly I'd like to thank all spectators who came up to support in less than favourable conditions. Hopefully the one or two pints after made up for the discomfort. Lastly thanks to Russell Barry and Peter O'Donovan for organisation of the teams and to Gavin Deane and the Ladies committee who helped with the food after, Rob Barry for the music and to all others (whom I've forgotten) who contributed to making the day a great success. |
