Crosshaven travelled to Clonmel unbeaten in the league and were hopeful of coming away with a victory. Things got off the right start courtesy of a Paul Memory try and Andrew Lane's conversion. However Clonmel kept in touch with two Morgan Lyons penalties. Crosshaven played some good rugby throughout but were unable put some distance between themselves and Clonmel. Almost inevitably with four minutes left on the clock Clonmel were awarded a penalty which Lyons converted to put them in the lead. The last action of the match was a drop goal attempt by Crosshaven which just missed the posts by inches. Crosshaven will feel unlucky to have lost a match that was theirs for the winning.

Next Sunday there is no fixture scheduled. The next match after that is a home tie against Ballincollig on November 8th 2009 in the league. This is must win match for Crosshaven now having lost a match and drawn a match.
