The J1s went through the highs and lows of junior rugby as they enjoyed a big win over St. Senans in the last league match of the season. By the end of the Senans/Crosshaven match Crosshaven were safe from relegation as Thurles were losing 9 -3 against Waterpark and thus due to be relegated. A late Thurles try and conversion won the match for them and thus put them above Crosshaven in the league order. Crosshaven are thus relegated from Division 1 and will play Division 2 rugby next year. It is a great pity as Crosshaven had really put in a great late surge recently winning four and drawing one of their last six matches.
Crosshaven put seven tries past Senans with Ross O'Connell, Michael Buckley, Paul Cogan and Andrew Lane amongst the scorers. The team still have cup competitions to concentrate on with Junior Cup last 16 fixture against Old Christians and a County Cup competition ahead. The Junior Cup game against Old Christians takes place next Sunday March 14th 2010 at home in Crosshaven. Best of luck to lads against the newly promoted Old Christians.
