Crosshaven’s great start to the season continued at Myrtleville when the Seasiders booked their place in the final of the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup Final with an 18-6 victory over Tralee on Sunday September 26th 2010. Both sides were prepared to throw the ball around at every opportunity and this was one of the best games seen at this grade in recent seasons. The sides were level 3-3 at half time with Ian Good kicking a penalty for the home side and Brian Mullins replying for Tralee. Tries from Chris Kearney, Jake Grey and Eamon Ring saw Crosshaven book their final place. Mullins added a second penalty for the Kerry side. Crosshaven are unbeaten this season with two great wins in the previous rounds of the Challenge Cup (a 29-14 away win over Skibbereen on Sunday September 12th 2010 and a 24-3 away win over Kilfeacle on Sunday September 19th 2010). There is no date set for the Challenge Cup final with Clonmel playing Cashel in the other Challenge Cup semi final this weekend (Sunday October 3rd). The team now have a free weekend with the start of the Junior League coming up soon, starting on Sunday October 10th 2010 away to Thurles. See the attached listing of J1 league matches.
