All Ireland Junior Cup Semi-final
Crosshaven v Sligo
Crosshaven take on Sligo in the semi final of All Ireland Junior Cup on Saturday February 12th 2011, with the match at home in Crosshaven kicking off at 2.30pm. This is very high profile match for Crosshaven and represents a great chance at winning some prestigious silverware.
From Irish Rugby.ie: "Crosshaven are flying the flag for junior clubs in Munster. To date in this competition, Youghal are the only finalists from Munster and that was back in 2006. Crosshaven have been on the road for the first two rounds - beating Dundalk and Dromore - so they will welcome being at home for the semi-final. The Cork side are currently third in the Munster Junior League Division 1, with eight wins in ten games, and as Cashel seem to have promotion sown up, this could be their best shot at silverware this season. Sligo will not make it easy for them as they are unbeaten in their league and with seven bonus points, they will travel with a great deal of ambition. Sligo are chasing a league and cup double this season and show no signs of flagging in either competition. Either way, this is likely to be a tough game between two clubs with plenty of talent and ambition and well worth watching if you are in the area this weekend."
The club is hosting a corporate lunch in the club before this match at 12.30pm, with the match kicking off at 2.30pm. The tickets for this lunch are all sold out. It will be a great way to meet and catch up with club members and will help the fundraising function within the club.
Parking for Sligo Match For every other members/visitors attending the match and people living locally, we advise everyone to get to the club early and also if possible, to leave the car at home/get a lift up or possibly to carpool, as parking will be at a premium/fairly limited.
Getting there early will provide an opportunity to catch up with old friends/members and maybe having a pint or two before the match!!!! It should be a good, competitive match with Crosshaven hopefully coming out as the winners. |
