Crosshaven 3 - Bandon 41
The team lost badly to an experienced and clearly better Bandon side. Again Crosshaven's injury crisis at J1 deprived the seconds of 5/6 players but there was still a fairly competitive team lined out. A half time score of 14-3 betrayed a close first half in which Bandon scored a fortunate first try (a penalty landing in goal which Crosshaven failed to touch down!) and a length of the field intercept in the last play of the first half when Crosshaven were camped on Bandon's try line. In truth Crosshaven were unlucky to go in at halftime 14-3 down. The second half however was a different story with Bandon scoring four well taken and well deserved tries - the last of which was on the last play of the day. It was typical at least of Crosshaven's luck that the conversion from the touchline hit the crossbar, bounced vertically up 3/4 metres and landed over the line to finish the match!! Bandon are a very good outfit doing well in the league and cup and best of luck to them in this competition.
