Our U15s entertained Dunmanway last Saturday in the South Munster League. Weather conditions were extremely difficult with a very strong wind blowing in from the sea. Crosshaven started the better, with strong picking and driving from the pack, particularly Finn Foley and Luke O'Donnell and hooker Evan Maverly took advantage and crossed for a try close to the touchline. Declan Taylor converted. Sustained pressure from the Crosshaven forwards and good handling by the backs proved too much for the opposition and the Dunmanway line was crossed repeatedly during the first half. Dunmanway never gave up the fight to their credit and although Crosshaven crossed for several tries in the second half, the visitors proved stiffer opposition than the scoreline suggests. They are joint top of their league at this early stage with Clonakilty and Skibbereen, each with two wins from two matches played.
