Crosshaven played Mallow in the final of the of the Mahers Sports South Munster Under 17 Development Cup on Saturday April 24th 2010  in Musgrave Park. Crosshaven having won the toss opted to play against the wind in the first half and were under pressure for most of the first half due to a combination of wind conditions & a far bigger & physical Mallow Pack. Crosshaven were first to score from a penalty kicked by Conor Lyden. Mallow then scored 2 penalaties to lead 6- 3.

Crosshaven then scored a try before half time through good work betweeen forwards and backs culminating in Brendan Scully touching down in the corner, Conor Lyden failed to convert the resultant conversion leaving the half time score at 8 - 6 to Crosshaven On the restart of the 2nd Half Mallow converted a drop goal to lead 9 - 8. However Crosshaven dug deep and showed their resilience and determination playing most of the 2nd half in Mallow half of the pitch using the wind to their advantage. The Crosshaven pack were getting on top of the Mallow pack which resulted in Conor Lyden converting another penalty after the Mallow Fullback was sinbinned. Crosshaven upped their workrate and good interplay between Forwards & Backs lead to Eoin Buckley touching for Crosshaven's second try which Conor Lyden converted. Crosshaven dominated proceedings for the final quarter and Conor Lyden Kicked one more penalty before the end to leave a final score of 22 - 9 to Crosshaven.
