Match report for the Under 19's V Middleton:
The under 19s hosted Middleton at mid day in Myrtleville on Saturday. A solid looking Middleton started well and looked to put Crosshaven under pressure with their powerful pack. However after a slow start Crosshaven with the wind and sea at their backs picked up the pace of the match and after some forward exchanges were first to score with Darren O' Keeffe breaking clear to make the try line from outside the 22. It was the first of a brace for Darren O Keeffe with Darren O' Shea also making the line a couple of times after making great ground around the park.

Peter Dowling added a fine try after a sublime blind side move which showed the imagination and skills of the team, a superb a move off the base of the scrum, which left Cian Mc Govern free to pin down the defence with a jinking run and a juggling act, leaving Peter free to strectch his legs a sprint from the 22 to score under the posts. Cian followed up on his fine distribution and tactical kicking with a fine try which saw him leave what was left of the Middleton defence in disarray. All around the park there were solid performances James Rochford tackled all day not allowing any attack to form, Brian Walsh and Ben Crumplin added lots of hard yards and a real atacking option. Unfortunately the match was brought to a premature end by a painful injury to Jack Murphy who dislocated his 'Good' shoulder, Jack togged off carrying a shoulder injury, not that you would notice from his committment and strength in the tackle. Jack will be sidlined for a few weeks. The Middleton team showed great sportsmanship and respect for Jack despite what was a very bad day in the office.

It is early days in the season but the lads have picked up where they left of last year with unstoppable exciting rugby, the next match is Saturday 31st in Myrtleville against Sundays Well, come along before you have to pay to see these guys play.

Congratulations to Cian Mc Govern, Ben Crumplin and Darren O'Shea who have been selected for the Irish U19 panel.
