Last Saturday the ladies travelled away to Bandon despite the horrendous conditions of the night before. The match was more of a development game and so was played in four quarters.

Both sides were poor in the first 15 mins with a lack of structure to the game and poor attacking, but things did improve in the second quarter as each team managing a score.

Following  the halftime stoppage Crosshaven then upped their game as their forwards started to bond much better, they created a number of driving pods which brought them close to the Bandon 22 where the ball was passed out to the backs and gave centre Maria Moran the space to score in the corner. Bandon were then down a player with no subs so in the interest of the game we lent Mary Malloy to them only to have her score after making a fantastic run down the wing. By the time the girls had got to the forth quarter Crosshaven upped a gear and the lack of fitness on the Bandon side gave us the chance to put in two more try’s.

The girl’s next match is against Tralee on Saturday 28th.

The Gym committee hope to hold an open day or evening before Christmas for any Club members who would like to join. This will give people the opportunity to view the facility ask questions and learn about the equipment. Membership forms will be available shortly and hopefully available for download from the website.

Note: For all juveniles, juniors and ladies results, fixtures, league tables etc look up the Munster Rugby website. Under "Domestic News" section you'll find all details re all teams.

It seems there are no teams playing this weekend which is just as well considering the weather. Probably best to settle in and watch all the international rugby on Saturday including Ireland versus Fiji tomorrow Saturday, kicking off at 5.15pm.
